BAD: Tri-State Nissan (long)
WARNING! This thread is a vent and a review on Tri-state Nissan in Winchester VA. Mods do what ya want to do to me/the thread (move it, ban it, ban me, whatever).
Let me start from the beginning. I took my car there to get a boost/map senor replaced. That went all as expected, 45 bucks later and no check engine light anymore
. The next day i get into my car and notice i have alot of dead pedal in the clutch, then later on i have no clutch. Luckily i was 9 miles from the dealership. I get towed there and they begin to look for the problem. 2 hours later they tell me my slave cylinder went out, I said ok when is it going to be fixed and how much. they reply "It comes to a total of 470$, 150 for the tow and 320 for parts and labor. We will get it done by Friday." (at this time it was Wednesday). I call them on Thursday to confirm they would have my car ready friday, heres the reply "yes, we have your part in stock, and your car will be ready at 10 AM." Im thinking ok this is fine. Ride 1 1/2 from centreville to where my dad works, and i give them a call (this is where it starts going down hill). CSR replies " It seems we have missed placed your part, but no worries it will be done by 4 p.m. and we will give you a call." 4 p.m. rolls around, and no call, 4:30 rolls around and i give them a call. Same guy earlier in the day "It seems that fedex forgot to drop your part off, and we will need to keep your car until monday when the part comes in." Me "I called last night and you guys said you had the part in stock and waiting to be installed, what happened with that?" CSR " I do not know that is parts department." At this point im tired and ready to go home and i reply "Do you have a loaner car that i could use? Ive got school on monday." CSR "Sorry we cant loan a car out to anyone under 21 years old." me "so what am i going to do then?" CSR "Im sorry but you will have to find a ride, Its out of my hands." Monday rolls around, I get a ride again with my dad to school, and then to the dealership. I call and get connected with the service manager and he says "we have your car ready, but your clutch still has alot of dead pedal." me "im on my way there." When i get there, the had the hood up and the service tech lifts it to far and "CRACK!" there goes my brand new windshield (installed in jan). I shake my head and say "ok, what ever im getting my car out of here, NOW!" At the ring out the cashier says "your bill is $150 for the tow, $75 for the storage over the weekend and $320 parts and labor, total is $545. How would you like to pay for that?" me "wait wait wait, i already paid for the tow, and its your shops fault that my car was here for the weekend." I pulled out my old reciept for the tow and she says "ok, i can take the tow off but you still have to pay for the storage fees." me "ok im getting the service manager for this one." he comes out and clears the holding fees (thank god). so next i ask "When are you going to replace my windshield?" she looked at me with a funny face and said "we are not responsible for damages that occurred before we service the vehicle." me "No, i watched your tech raise the hood to far and crack it!" her "sorry, we are not responsible." I say "**** it!" and leave.
I just got home 20 min ago and the clutch is now slipping and non responsive. I have a 6 inch crack in my new windshield, and im now 400 dollars in debt. Im so god dam ******* pissed off right now, i think i could kill every last ****** in that shop, burn it to the ground and **** on the ashes, and STILL not feel justified. That dealership is a fraud, and is crooked as all hell. I give them a big *******
what a fcuked up week
and mods do what you think is necessary to this thread and/or me, becuase frankly my luck is just so damn bad right now i dont think id give a ****!

well honestly if it was up to me......police woulda been the first person i called. tell them everything that happened....call your insurance company and report them to the BBB.....then i would come back and **** them up and burn their **** to the muthafluckin ground.....holla at me if u need some new ideas....cuz payback is a b!tch.......u know!!!
Oh hell no I wouldnt have left until that crack was fixed. The police would have been carting me out of there in handcuffs cause I would seriously hurt somebody in there. I'm a calm person also but when it comes to my car and things that I work hard for I dont play that $hit.

So my next question is. Who wants to help a poor man out when it comes time to replace his clutch? im looking for experienced people in replacing clutches, and has some specialty tools. I can offer beer and food. Any takers?
Why would you try to fix your clutch when you just paid over $400 for them to fix it. There is a warranty on the work they do. You took it there for a problem. They diagnosed it and made a recommendation. You followed it and paid.
They need to fix it!
As far as being mad, there's no need for it. Everyone has a supervisor. Ask to speak to the General Manager, then the owner, then Nissan. If need be, google, Nissan and find out the name of the CEO. Then email him. You can always take a matter higher.
It sounds like they are trying to play you because of your age. Don't take it. If you're not comfortable confronting them, get your Dad involved. I wouldn't pay another dime AND they would pay to fix the windshield.
Just my $.02.

I had not read this thread, and I just happened to call them today to have a recall done, because they are on my way to work. What a buch of clueless idiots! The people in the service department had NO idea what they were talking about and totally avoided answering my direct questions. Then the service tech would not transfer me to a warranty advisor. I hate Hamilton Nissan (the ext closest dealership), but at least they are responsive.

I was hoping you were going to read this thread, because i knew you had a nissan and you lived close to them (relative to dealerships such as browns). I had more of a problem with their attitude as "Oh well."

are you refering to Tri-State Nissan? Is Hamilton the same place?
I feel for you bro, i have had some horrible experiences at dealerships or better yet lets just call them by their true name.. stealerships. The short version of the story is that i went in for a transmission fluid change and it turned into me loosing 3rd and 4th gear (manual tranny, they pulled the wrong bolt), no one to accept responisbility and me stuck with having to replace the tranny. This happened to me when i was young too and lets just say they dealers have no respect for young guys, especially if they look like they are less than 25 yrs old. Anywayz i hope something works out for your, dont let them get away with it...especially not the windshield crack

Thanks for the words.
The dealership just called me and told me that we are going to replace the windshield. As for the clutch, i toyed around with it today, and it seems that they did not bleed the line properly (had massive amounts of air in the lines). I re bleed them and presto ive got my clutch back
. so i guess im squared away with them... but i still will NEVER go back to them.
Dude,
If they will replace the windshield, I would make them come to your house. F-that. If they do it inhouse, i would be in the garage with a video camera taping those fewls working on my car. This stealership is ridiculous....

Glad to hear everything is good with the max and that they will fix the windshield, but just like andrew said, watch those retards work on the car.. the last thing you want is another problem because of their stupidness. But before you give the car to them ask if they sending the car to another place or if they gonna do it in house, that way you might be able to avoid the stealership and go directly to the other place

They are having a guy come in specially for my car. He will be doing the work in the dealerships garage under my watchful eye. Oh and no need to come to my house on account that i am required to be in the area of the dealership due to college.

Ok so the windshield is in and sealed properly. The dealership took care of the charges; so i guess they made an effort to make amends. I will say that they ultimately did the right thing, but i will not vouch for the skill of their mechanics and service, and i will NOT be returning to them for future service.
