Lia Nissan = Garbage...
They were the only dealer I really had left in upstate New York.
Anyway, I brought the car in to have the belts tightened quick... The came back two hours later with a list of BS that adds up to over $1,500.
1: Radiator is leaking- $750 to replace
2: belt tensioner is broken - $300
3: Car "NEEDS" a tune up - $425
4: New wipers - $30
5: new sidemarker bulb - $25
Why it is BS;
1: Ratiator is NOT leaking, it was just removed for the new headers and had some spilage left over. Told them this and they insisted it was leaking, so I once again looked it all over... No leak and my fluid level had not dropped at all and no puddles on the driveway. Where the hell do you get $750 to replace the radiator to start with? It is a $130 part and it takes less than a half hour to swap!
2: Belt tensioner... Also nothing wrong with it. Went home and looked up how to tighten myself and I did with no problems. They also said the belts were glazed... Nope they were not.
3: Everything other than the tranny flush in the "tune-up" has been done in the last six months.
4: Wipers were just a little dirty, cleaned them with alcohol and they are perfect.
5: Sidemarker bulb is BRAND NEW, something is up with the harness and it goes on and off... Don't expect them to know that one, but $25 to replace a $1.50 bulb that takes 3 min to swap...
So now I really have no dealers I can trust up there.

yup stay away from dealerships. The bulbs ive never understood, I work at a valvoline where its 10 bucks to replace any bulb excluding headlights/fogs. The dealership charged me 45 bucks to plug in a new boost sensor, 3 seconds tops.

The people can be ok to deal with but I think EVERY dealer is supposed to "look over" your car and find out what parts look like they're going to fail and tell you while your there. Most of the time I buy parts at 'Toga nissan because they give me 20% off from Autozone and then have a shop I trust up in Glens Falls install it if I can't

Lia has helped me out a few times but it was after I just bought the car and the work was being paid for by a Chevy dealer down the street

I have yet to go to Toga Nissan yet... Looks like I might have to though.
I understand preventative maintenance and trying to look out for customers... But completely fabricating over $1,500 in needless repairs is plain fraud to me.
yeah i bought my sentra there. while i was on a test drive i heard i weird sound . well the saleman told me it was a helicopter
i believed it .
well the point is my belts were super worn and they sold it to me that way ,i found this out the next day after i had it home.
i like the service at herba nissan steve the service manager is extremly honest.

I forgot about herba, havent had any work done there either but was looking for a car w/ the ex and sales was actually really easy to work with and no pressure, I wouldnt have a problem going there for service
although with saratoga nissan you get a free carwash every time you take it in

I live near Armory Nissan on central ave, and never went back. When I had my 01 (RIP) the "maxima" and "se" badges were missing, I went to go see how much they wanted for new ones. $75!!! for two plastic pieces! I realize this is not an every-day part but come on!

I forked over $43 to LIA years ago for a new front emblem... ****** rip off.
I went to get a SES diagnostic done at armory (I know i know..I pulled the code myself and it would switch back and forth between P0420 and 430 plus I wasnt sure if it could be the ecm update) Brought a coupon for "10% off any service up to $100" You think they'd take it for an $89 diagnostic? nope. its gotta be "work done" not "diagnostic" so stupid
Wow...and I was starting to think I was the only Maxima on here in the area lol. You guys that are from around here's should join NYCMaximas.org and tell them I sent you (post in new user section).
Sorry to hear about your automotive *** (so to speak) and that it got ripped another one. That's why I do all the work myself and why I'm glad my dad convinced my mom to let him build a garage and put a lift in it.
Good luck. Later guys.
