Should have gone to dealer

Okay so I was leaking coolant badly so I had to go somewhere close to fix the problem. So I went to pep boys... I dropped my car off on Sunday and they told me it was the coolant line bracket or something like that, and they had to order it from Nissan. The quote was $301.68. I wasn’t so mad since I thought it was the water pump so I said okay that’s fine. But then they got the wrong part from Nissan! So now I have to wait until Sunday to get my car back! They said they would lower the price for my inconvenience but wow very annoying...Next time if I cant make it to my mechanic again im just going to the dealership. The price will be high but at least it wont take a week!

what the heck is a coolant line bracket? sounds like a $3.00 part. make sure you're not getting ripped off.

Pep boys is horrible. I would never take my car there.

At my local Pep boys, the techs are typically very young, poorly trained, and they used to have burnout contests after the store closed with customer's cars left overnight.

That was a few years ago and I have moved out of that ****ty neighborhood since then.

Yeah but I really didnt have any other option since I was leaking coolant so bad. He said there was a small hole in the coolant line and when they ordered it from Nissan ithad a weird name like coolant line bracket. Maybe thats why it was the wrong part..first time I took my car to pep boys and they messed up.

where was the coolant leaking from? could be heater related, which would make sense for parts and labor. just make sure it's not just a radiator hose though and get the correct part description and its purpose.

I would only goto pepboys for parts. If you're not doing it yourself, I wouldn't recommend using them.

Next time you should just go to Tavarish, he knows your car inside and out and his prices couldn't be better.
