2002 SE Good Price?
Hi all!
I am currently pricing a 2002 SE. It is fully loaded without the Navi. The sticker price is 31,176, they are giving me 14,000 for my truck (97 F-150) which brings the price to 17,176.
The dealer says that by playing with the price for my truck, they are at invoice on the car. Now, I realize the work and all that goes into selling a used vehicle, however the dealer says he has a buyer for my truck already (their first mistake).
I priced the same car on carsdirect.com and got the MSRP of 30,631 (no dealer options), Invoice of 27,806 and a carsdirect.com price of 28,106.
Dealer called this morning (all this happened last night) and said that 17,176 was the best he could do, I said that I want 16,500. He said no...but I think he is thinking it over.
I have a high confidence factor because:
1) He has a buyer for the truck. This information does not benefit me in anyway, if anything he should have made me think that he will have a tough time selling my truck.
2) He is already going to make about $2000 on the new car and $1000 on my truck.
What do you guys think? Can I safely go lower, or would this price rock?
