I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Maxima from 'Star Nissan' in Flushing(Queens). Anyone have any good or bad experiences with this shop? Any input is appreciated.

A friend of mine bought his 2k Altima there. I talked to him and he said that they were pretty good. But I guess its all relative.....he tried this nissan dealership on coney island ave in brooklyn and did not like them, so thats why he went to star.
Personally, I have always liked the dealerships in Long Island but thats just me. Being that i live in MD I am used to more of a suburban environment which is why sometimes i don't like the places in NYC.
But don't get me wrong...I have had great experiences with NY dealerships.

You could maybe check the infiniti dealership in coney island..(near the boardwalk) if they have any maximas.
My cousin bought his Q45 their and he always loves their service.

I hope I was of some help. good luck

Mike

Hey,
GO ahead and check the other threads on this page.
There is alot of stuff on the tri-state area dealerships.
2000 BlackMax, said that he had a good experience at the Nissan dealer in Islip. (check out his post)

I quote,
"I Had very good experience buying my car here. The whole staff was very help full and only paid $250.00 over tissue for a 2000 Maxima. Would recomend you check it out if you are looking for a Nissan."

good luck
Mike

Star Nissan

I wish I had bought my car there. The people seemed very helpful there. Stay away from Koepell. I had a tough time with them and somewhat tough time with Biener. I've heard great things about Star's service too. And I used to know one of the guys there.

I didn't buy my car from Star. But I did have my car serviced there. I wouldn't advise you taking your car back there to service if you do buy the car there. Koeppel has a much better serivce dept. A while ago I started having starting problems with my car and a loud whine. My lights would dim when not on the gas. The interior lights were dimming too. The one day there was smoke and a grinding sound. I made an appointment with Star and drove it in smoking and whining. I tell them the alternator seems dead. My car was about 1.5 years old with about 26k on it then. Everything is under warranty. So, I come back and I end up having to pay 30 bucks!? They said my car needed a belt adjustment. And that its not covered under warranty. Fine, I pay. Its not much. I drive the car home and it still doesn't sound like how it did when I first bought the car. But the whine is much lower now. And the lights seem to work.. No smoke. A few months later. Boom.. alternator catches fire.. car needs to be towed. I get it towed to Koeppel and they replace my alternator, belts, and battery all for free.. =D Star's service center looks like a joke compared to Koeppel's too.
