My Premium Bose CD player needs to be replaced under warranty. Tustin Nissan parts dept. has AT LEAST 2 units in stock. But, they won't part with one of them to repair a customer's vehicle. Instead, I have to wait while that same unit is ordered from the manufacturer which is ~ a 2 week process on average. It can take up to 4 weeks I'm told. This certainly can't be considered good customer service. It looks like they don't mind making a customer wait so that they can keep the units available for walk in traffic. I'm not impressed.

P.S. It's clear to me that warranty customers are viewed as " captured " customers by at least some car dealers. Therefore no need to hurry or unnecessarily deplete parts inventory to satisfy these individuals. The offset to no charge is that warranty customer are classified as customer # 2.
