Paint Chips Really Show After Polish/Wax

I finally polished & waxed my 01 Max over the weekend and I couldn't believe how many paint chips there were on the hood and front fenders. I counted over 20.

Anyone know how much it is to have the hood, bumper, and front fenders painted?

I have the same problem with my wife's 2003 pearl white SE. The body molding just in front of the rear wheels looks like it has been sand blasted. The car is not even a year old yet & it looks like a 4 year old car with all the stone chips. I had the 3M Clear Bra installed on the front hood, front portion of fenders & the bumper & that now is the only area safe from stone chips. Nissan's paint really sucks.

My dealer quoted $275 each for the hoot and front bumper.

Oh, and I suppose I'm not cool because I don't have one of your fancy schmancy "hoods"... Ya know, a hoot adds at least five HP.

You're always going to notice paint chips when you detail your car, that's the worst part of doing so.

If I get my front resprayed, will it chip as easly as it does from the factory? I want to just save to get my whole car repainted (although it would cost an arm and a leg), there are chips and crap everywhere!

I read some threads awhile back but didn't pay too much attention because I didn't have my max yet and I didnt know it would be as bad as it is, but Nissan doesn't cover this defect, do they?

See my "How-To" post about having Nissan repaint your car for free(search under How and Nissan in the subject line, 5th gen forum - I just tried for you and am quitting after 8 consecutive "cannot find server" messages. But anyway, they just repainted my hood and front bumper at no charge. Good luck!
