Works great, pads remain secure and it saves a lot of time when you want to switch pads.

I did add the heavier counterweight because I'm using the 6" pads.

I just got the contour and standard pads. Both 6" plus a counterweight. I have so many different pads, I'll be set for a long time. I even bought Hook and Loop sandpaper to sand my bumper for repainting.

Yup, you can never have enough pads. I got extras from Proper Auto Care.

For anyone interested, I got my PC here:

$119 plus shipping. About $128 total IIRC. The cool thing is that this includes the hook and loop pad and the heavier counterweight. It was the best deal I found on the 7424......

That's where I got the Hook and Loop system from. Their prices are good.

Hook and loop (velcro) is the only way to go IMO unless you want to be limited to the Porter Cable brand white polishing pad. Once you go to velcro you can use finishing, cutting, and wool pads as well, making the Porter Cable even more versatile yet than the cheapo orbital buffers.
