Cleaning up the ol' engine, what should I use?

Cleaning up the ol' engine, what should I use?

I used Armor All protectant wipes for the plastic crap, but what should I use to clean up the engine it self, I tried the wipes and they can't bust away that dirt, any suggestions?

Use some kind of grease dissolver, thats all i can think of ;(

Simple green stained my hoses real bad. I use Meguiars Citri-Gel.

simple green make sure to dillute it though.
