I ran out of window cleaner and used...

I thought I had everything I needed today to detail my Max. Spent 6+ hours detailing it and found out I didn't have any window cleaner. I did have Mother's Showtime Quick Detail spray and this stuff works awesome! I even used it on my window tint with no streaking problems what so ever. Has anybody tried any type of spray detailer on their windows?

You're right that Showtime works nicely. I've also used Meguiars QD with great results.

But i usually use Stoner's Invisible Glass for my windows with excellent results.

This dude I know is all about using this Ardex quickwax on windows. I'm not a big fan though...leaves a lot of residue that streaks and looks like **** the first time it rains.

If you'er out of window cleaner try 50/50 denatured alcohol to water or 33/33/33 water, vinegar, alcohol...that mixture seems to be big on autopia, though I stick with the commercial brands myself.

I have used straight rubbing alcohol before and got good results. I also took 20/20 and mixed it with rubbing alcohol and only used that for severely dirty windows.

A good example of this was a Grand Am I helped a friend detail that had blunt smoke film on it. He used his cleaner on one side and I used my concoction on the other. The concoction with the MF worked quickly.

yup I use quick detailer on my windows, I have no streaking problems, but sometimes it doesnt remove greasy fingerprints as well as a dedicated glass cleaner

Bah. You people and your "auto glass cleaners." All it takes is a little old-fashioned industrial grade windex and all my dirty glass problems are solved. I use it on the glass, dash, steering wheel, chrome (even my stock rims can bling), anything smooth. Not sure how it would work on tint though.
