Any comments on Nu Finish on 5th gens, good or bad? Found nothing when searching. Thanks.

Nu Finish was highly rated by Consumer Reports, mainly because it lasted longer than most others they teated. The shine is only average, IMO. It is a somewhat abrasive combination cleaner/wax.

I prefer to use seperate products. But judging from your other post you need to get it done rather quickly. I'm about 80 miles north of you and good weather days are getting few and far between. If this is your only shot at getting some protection on before the winter, and you haven't clayed and polished your Max yet this year, use the Nu-Finish and do a complete finish job in the spring.

Bluesbrekr,

Thanks bro. I definately need to get a base on tomorrow, as you know the brutal s*** is comin'. I have both the Nu Finish and Gold Class available, you think Nu Finish though eh? I will not have any time other than tomorrow available for the next 3 - 4 weeks so...

I still owe you a reply on the lic. plate frames I have but...I don't remember the Mfgr. (they look good and are durable). I bought them at an auto parts store in Minnepolis and I hope to be back up there in a few weeks. I will get the name and get it to ya'.

If you have the time tomorrow, go with the Gold Class products, not the Nu-Finish. I'm figuring GC has seperate products?

I need to wash my ride tomorrow and get another coat of Klasse SG on....

I can't believe you have all those performance mods and your'e still ridin' on blowtenza's man. Go "blow some dough" and get some Pilot A/S's.

Well, Blues said it best. Nu Finish is an abrasive which only provides an average shine at best. If I were you, I would do a quick clay session and then top it with the Gold Class.

Are those plate frames with the plexi window? If so, I might be interested.

Well, that's kinda the plan. I am hoping to get through this winter with the Blowtenzas (only 12,000 miles on them now). Then get some 18's with summer tires next spring and get some good snow/all season tires on the stock rims for next winter.

Blu - WTF ya' doin' postin' at 4:00 AM'ish? heh heh - kiddin' ya' man. I'm up at 0600 to get waxin' so I can't talk too much. I'm on a similar path but I am NOT going thru a winter "up here" on my EL42 turds. I'm getting 225/50 Pilot Sport A/S's on the stock GLE rims (rear splash gaurds coupled with my GLE offset 1.57" prevent me from going with 55's comfortably). Next spring, I'll revisit upgrades maybe.

Prinz - Nah bro, I went with a decent steel frame that gave me the "tighter" look I wanted on the front (thicker) and steel on the back that still shows the stickers with a base/mounting plate to step-it-off the car. I know plexi's are better these days but I had a bad set in the late 80's (scratched easily and became somewhat "yellowed") and have been turned-off on them ever since. But...this off-the-rack brand I used did have plexi styles so I'll try to get that info (mfgr. & part numbers) and post. Need to get back up North to do it though.

That's exactly what I want. I had the metal frame with the Plexi Window. Never yellowed. I like the black metal frame anyway.

The good thing about Nu Finish is that it lasts longer than most. I wouldn't say it's the best though.
