Perma Guard

About six weeks ago when I bought my Maxima, the dealer tried to sell me on this PermaGuard stuff. It's some kind of interior/exterior protectant that's supposed to last for 5 years. If you ask me, it sounds like a $600.00 detail / wax job. I might of considered if it had protected against scatches and dings.
Any feedback or input on this Perma Guard stuff? I've never even heard of this product before.

waste of money. Just keep your Max waxed with Zaino or Klasse.

Sweet 6th gen by the way

I purchased it, but only at "dealer cost." I paid about $300.00 for it. I was going to decline, but the cool thing about the package is that there is a 5 year waranty. If the exterior paint dulls, I can get the car repainted (free, supposedly). In addition, if I spill bleach all over the interior carpeting, or something similar happens to spot the interior, the dealership will have the carpet/leather re-dyed to match (or replace carpet/leather).

When the options-gal told me about the "teflon" coat, and gave me the original price of 600 bucks, I quickly declined. But when she suddenly dropped it to 300, I agreed. Wrote a check and had it done the following week.

As for what it really is....the exterior is basically a higher-quality wax, and the interior a great fabric/leather protectant. The only reason I purchased the job was for "peace of mind."

Hopefully, I will never have to test the dealership on its word!

I work at a dealership where we sell the same stuff. Good thing you didn't buy it, it really is just a wax. I've had to "Permaguard" a couple of cars myself. It's a waste of money if you ask me....
