How do I prevent rust on a bare metal spot where paint once was?...

Friend of mine swung my passanger side door open and scraped the bottom portion (edge) on the concrete curb, it's the underside and not visible to the naked eye but he got a little corner and stripped the paint right off it. What is the best way to prevent any rust in the future? paint it in with touch up paint?

thanks

Yeah, if this was almost right away, clean it with some solvent and get some paint on it as soon as possible. If this was a few days ago sand it a bit first incase some rust has formed. It depends how deep it is, but bare steel rusts pretty fast. You could also brush on some Rustoleum/Tremclad/whatever primer first and then topcoat it with touchup paint, following directions given with them of course.
