I only use quick wax to clean finger/hand smudges and bird crap off my black max in between washes. I don't use it for polishing or waxing.

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to use a spray quick wax for doing those kinds of things. Do you maybe mean Meguiar's Quik Detailer?

Just curious outsider, did you use Quik Wax over an existing coat of wax, or was that totally gone already and you're using this now because you need to re-wax? I'm wondering because a product like this probably won't work very well to substitute a "normal" wax, as you've found, but some people like to use it to extend the life of an existing coat of wax and find it works alright for that purpose...

I only use the Quik Detailer for touch ups. And only when there is a good coat of wax. I believe that I read somewhere (on there web site or on the directions) that if the Quik Detailer doesn't come easily, then a new coat of wax should be applied. Don't think it's intended for a complete wax. IMHO
