Newbie ??
Hey all,
Pretty-much a first-time poster here, so bear with me...
I have a 6th Gen, which I purchased in August '03. The winter has been somewhat harsh, and no sand or salt/chemicals were spared from our roads around here. Would a good wash/wax job do the trick (when it gets a bit warmer, of course), or do I need to go further? I did a quickie handwash yesterday and the paint looks good, so I'm sure the clearcoat is fine.
Thanks!
Don

First of all, I'd like to extend a hearty welcome to the Detailing Forum. Definitely feel free to peruse the threads here to find as much info as you need to keep your 6th Gen in good shape.
But back to the subject at hand. I live in Chicago which is known for harsh winters and a ton of salt on the roadways . This is what I would recommend for your 6th Gen:
a) Wash the car with Dawn to strip all the old wax off of it.
b) Clay the car with a Clay Magic clay bar
c) I am guessing that there may be some light swirling on your vehicle. To remove the swirls, you would need a polish like 3M's Swirl Mark Remover, Meguiar's #9, or Einszett's Metallic Polish.
d) Apply Klasse All In One
e) Apply Klasse Sealant Glaze. Let it cure for 24 hrs and apply a second coat. Repeat curing and reapply.
f) After final coat of glaze, top with S100 or carnuba wax of your choice to add depth.

Thanks for the reply and welcome! I will definitely do what you suggested, and will certainly post pics when I'm done...
Thanks again!
