was I DREAMING or I really saw what I saw ??????

Ok so i was at the car wash washing my max and this guy in his old *** pre 90's benz pulls in and after 5 minutes i see him using the HIGH PRESSURE water on the ENGINE. he was cleanin the engine with the high pressure water and going crazy ALL over the engine and i saw STEAM coming off the engine too. i was like, WTF IS HE DOING. IS HE INSANE?

so my question is that, is it SAFE to do this? could the water possibly damage the electrical parts? such as battery, alternator or all those sensors. could we do this to our max too?

sorry if i sound like an idiot but i had never seen such a thing.

I wouldn't do that....

High pressure water could force its way into places where water normally couldn't. Some degreaser, a brush, and a garden hose are all that's needed. You don't have to "blast" the dirt off.

Perhaps the guy probably never cleaned a car before, probably clueless how to clean a BENZ. Not your everday hard working class people like us. But yes, it's not a good thing, since it can even get in the MAF and soak your air filter, or even worse, rust some metal part where water get in the way and sit there to start rusting. Depending on how often this guy washing his engine. I don't wash my engine. It's clean but dusty.
