Rear Spoiler

I'm new to this site and the world of Maxima but I'm glad to be apart of both now. My question is how hard is it to install a rear spoiler? I purchased my 2004 without the standard Nissam spoiler and now I want to add one. The dealer wants to charge me 200 for the spoiler and 180 to install it. I think I could do it myself but I want to know how difficult the job may be.

well im not sure how the new ones go in, but on mine, u just had to drill 4 holes and then mount the spoiler and then put some stuff where the spoiler connects to the body so water wouldnt leak in and stuff. Oh yeah, welcome to the maxima community, good luck with ur purrrrty 2004

I was kinda wondering the same thing Jmax.. I found a online store that sells the OEM spoilers, and paints/clearcoats them, for like 175 bucks.. A local body shop here quoted 75 bucks to install it. This would be cheaper than the dealer, and I'm sure a good body shop could do just as well as nissan could. I may look into buying the actual spoiler from nissan though.. I'd rather have a quality paint job on it, than risk some online store not getting it right.

You might want to post this in the 6th gen forum. You'll likely get more responses this way. Not sure what this is doin in the detailing forum...
