Engine Bay

Ok, i read the sticky and it says to clean the engine bay all you have to do is powerwash the engine bay. I'm new to cleaning engine bays but I thought spraying the engine with water was bad? What areas should I wash? Theres a battery right in there I dont think thats too safe lol. I'm probably being an idiot about this can someone please educate me on this?

tape a plastic bag around your battery terminals, alternator, and spark plugs. If you have an intake put a plastic bag around the cone filter as well....don't POWERWASH, use the gunk engine bay wash let it sit, then use a garden hose to gently wash all the crap away.

how can you tape around your sparkplugs?

But yeah, pressure from your garden hose should be enough. Like mentioned above, get some engine degreaser, some rag, and a brush and get to work. Then hose it off.
