Tape on Paint

Well, I was out of town for almost 2 weeks, and I left the max with my fiance. She decided to clean it and took it to a carwash. My passenger side marker light was a little loose and I guess they put that grey tape on it to keep it from falling off in the carwash.

I guess they, or her, forgot to take it off. When I got back, I saw the tape, and peeled it off, but it didn't all come off. The sticky part is on the fender. I can't take it off, here's a pic, any suggestions on how to take that crap off.

wooh.. for a minute there, i thought it was a clear corner on the 5th gens. (sorry, don't mean to make your situation worse than it is..)

Anyway, have you tried goo gone? or maybe Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, might work on it..i can't say. (i know the eraser will strip the wax, so re-wax if you do try it).

Good luck with it though...

My friend had baked on (July in SC summer) bubble gum on the back of his car. WD-40 and some towels took it right off.

Awwww dude that SUCKS.

I recently tried to get adhesive off my paint when I peeled my vinyl. I tried goo gone, sucked, I tried some 3m Adhesive remover...sucked. Those might work for you though.

The thing that worked best for me was actually detailing clay...but I still only peeled one and put the rest over the old vinyl.

Use a hair dryer and blow it at an angle and rub it with a towel. That should do the trick. Try not to over heat the area. That's how I debadge my car.
