Detail shop price- buffing exterior cost?

I only have very light scratches on the clearcoat and want to have a detail shop buff out the whole car, how much would I expect to be charged? Will having this done be a whole lot of difference?

Probably 70-90 bucks or so. The one time I had my car professionally detailed they used glaze and covered up all the swirls, but did not buff them out. Personally I don't trust detail shops anymore...doing it yourself is a guarantee of better results.

do you not have the time to do it?

if you do, I'd suggest saving that money and spending it towards quality products... then spend a weekend making your car look spectacular!

Good point. You can buy a PC for less than the cost of two exterior-only details at a good shop.

I'm sure in CA there are plenty of detail shops, you just need to ask around to find a good one. 70-90 would probably be on the very low end. When i say detail shops im not talking about car washes that say they detail, go to someone who knows what they are doing and specializes in that.

Theres a detail shop a few min from me but I havent asked them about it yet. I wanted to post and see what others say so I can get an idea about how much things would cost.

I am with endus in that you could do it yourself and it would actually cost you less than the pro shop.

But, if you decide on a shop, pay close attention to the cars they detail. Do they have any hologramming from using too aggressive a polish/buffer? Watch how they wash the cars.

In short, you have to treat this like you are shopping for anything else because you want the best value for your money.

If you are interested in doing it yourself, let us know and we'll help you get your Max looking good.

im probably gonna have the same thing done this summer. i looked up all the local detailing shops and visit them to ask for pricing. most important thing is that they use a polish and a high speed buffer, and not just a glaze.
