Orbital vs normal buffer
Orbital vs normal buffer
which one is better to use. If the normal buffer has varible speed it will not burn through paint as many people say buffers do. Also is an orbital enough to take out light spots, dull spots, swirls, ect. Also what ever type is better what brand or model is good and what is the cost?
if you are goin for an orbital, you're best bet is the 2 models made by Porter Cable because majority of the detailers online that I know of use it and there's just so much feedback on it.
Porter Cable 7424 is marketed as a buffer because it comes with polish pad and the Porter Cable 7336 is the same thing, except no polish pad. Doesn't matter because you will have to spend more money on more pads and such.
Coastaltool.com has the best price I have seen on the PC 7424... i bought mine from them and it's great. It was like all the necessary velcro backing pad and the counterweight for $120.

The orbital is pretty foolproof. There is no risk of ruining your finish.
The non-orbital buffers work well, but it takes a very experienced operator.
I have the PC 7424 orbital and I'm very pleased with the results.

i need help. I have many minor scratchs on my max all over the car. The major spots are the trunk, and hood. There are also some minor spots around the doors too. On my hood the previous owner must have touched up a few spots and my dad took rubbing compound to them and it make a couple of freckles the size on dimes. How would i go about fixing these. Ive been reading the www.autopia-carcare.com site. I though maybe someone has experienced this and could give me some tips.
Thanks
Sean
