Was detailing my car this morning and the hose nozzle scratched my paint :(
I talked to MJG last night and he was talking to me about detailing someone's car. Haha, he sorta motivated me to cleaning my car. Went out this morning, washed that sucker real good. Used some rubbing compound where needed and proceeded to dry. I attempted to use the "sheeting" technique by removing the nozzle attachment on my hose, but as i did it, i accidentally scratched my fender with the nozzle.
I tried buffing the scratch out with some 3M rubbing compound, but it didn't help much. Are there any products out there that work well on long and thin scratches? Possibly something that is a mild abrasive that will spread the paint around?
In the mean time i waxxed the car with Meguiars NXT synthetic wax. All i have to say is WOW!!! The car has about 3000 miles on it, so its essentially brand new. This wax made the paint look better than show room quality.
For the future though. What is the best procedure to wash and wax your car?
Clean, rubbing compound, apply polish, then cleaner wax and then regular wax?

If the sctach is real bad, you can try one of those scratch-x type things, but if it's a not so serious scratch, i'd use some polish to hide it well.
