How to Remove scartches in windshield???

Alrighty I was at a car meet last night and not sure what happen. But this morning while driving I saw my entire left side windshied was scratched up. It look like someone took sand paper and decided to mess up my window. So does anyone know if I can polish it out or any suggestions.....

I can put my finger over the scratches and feel some...so some are slighty deep. Thanks - Ray

Sand and polish?

1000 grit
1500 grit
2000 grit
and Rubbing compound to follow up.

In FL, you get one free windshield per year. Don't know where else it is like that, but TN might be.

In FL, it's part of everyones insurence that if your windshield has a crack or something, they will replace it once a year.
If you get a crack every year, then they will replace it once every year.
