One company and one company only.....meguirs. Get a clay bar and their 3 step process. You will need sunglasses to check it out in the sun

honestly for a black car, i still cant find a solution for some deep swirlies from neglecting owners going through automated car washed.. arg.. but what I found the best is the meguiar's gold class. mirror glaze and gold class wax. a sore arm and cramped fingers but well worth it

Check out this site. www.autopia.org its pretty much a forums for detailing addicts. Most of them do it for a living. They can really help you you. www.autogeek.net has some nice products. enter "clubmember" at the end for a 10% discount.

I hear if you want a "mirror or show" finish you need to at least do a 3 step process, "Clay bar, Polish, Wax" Any will do. I found a meguirs clay bar and luburciant kit at walmart for cheap.

For a polish a lot of people like klasse all in one, or klasse twins. I know theres many more but these are the only two off the top of my head.
For a wax, many people HIGHLY recommend P21S i think it is. Well it runs about 30$ a can. Little steep for my taste. I hear that S100 is pretty much the exact same thing as P21S only much cheaper (14$ a can) This will get you a sweet shine. If you want to go even farther you could add an Acid Bath wash in the beginning. WHERE DO YOU GET 1 AND HOW MUCH you ask?? Well its probably about 60$ at a detailing shop. Little high you say? Well all an acid bath is, is washing the car with vinigar. yeap vinigar. It strips all the old wax and crud off.

I would keep going but i got to go 2 class now. Check out autopia.org for your detailing needs. There great.

You can't beat Meguiers. The line of red bottles is more 'casual', not requiring any special tools, but not near as customized as the Meguiers Mirror Glaze line which is in the tan bottles, and which truly works better with an orbital polisher (although not a total necessity).

Due to minimal investment, try the red one for called something like cleaner, and then coat it with the newer Gold Class (there's a newer one which is more high tech sounding, but I don't remember the name). I bet you'd be happy with the results.

You can really go overboard easily on this topic... trust me.

yea, meguiers worked best for me too, first i tried some no name brands and few others including turtle wax polish and wax, heavy scratch removers, and they did pratically nothing
