Best Polish and Wax for a black car?

I have a black car and want to have a mirror like shine that lasts and I don't want any swirl marks. Of course I want to get a great product, but I would like it to be easy to use and easy to buff off.

What do you all suggest for obtaining this on a black car?

Thanks again!

Dr. Monkey: Take a look at Bluesbrekr's thread on Souveran. That should give you a few pointers.

But in all seriousness, it really depends on a wide variety of factors such as oxidation, swirling, and other defects you want to polish in order to determine what "cut" or aggressiveness you want in your polish.

Einszett Paint Polish (Lack Politur) applied with an R/O buffer and wiped off, followed by Einzsett Glanz Wax applied by hand. The Paint Polish has the right amount of cut, I think, for any paint job other than brand-new. The Glanz Wax has silicone, which supposedly makes it last for a long time. Use microfiber towels for the buffing.

If you need to know where to get the stuff, I got mine from www.openroadmotoring.com.

Check out Vanilla Moose made by Clearkote. The stuff works really well and is very simple to apply and take off. It will give you a very smooth mirror like finish. It is a very mild polish though. You will need something more aggressive if you are trying to remove swirl marks. If you follow that up with something like Souvern, it should give you a really deep wet look on black. I used the vanilla moose with Meguiars #26 and that also worked great. But the #26 is very difficult to buff off.

As far as avoiding swirl marks, just make sure you clean your car correctly and use the proper sponges, drying towels, etc. That will help eliminate new swirl marks.

hey, thanks everyone for all the ideas. I may try some of this this weekend. I can't do anything to the hood yet because that was replaced a month or so ago and painted and I have to wait for 90 days before waxing, but the rest of the car is still original paint. I may check this stuff out on that part of the car.

Thanks again and have a great night.
