Help! Scratched hood...

Hey guys, my little bro was trying to help me clean my car, but ended up using a short metal brush on my hood!! (trying to get rid of pine tar)

Now there are some pretty bad looking tiny scratches all around my hood....ugh.

What's the best way for me to fill in these light scratches? Looks terrible, but I know it isn't too deep.

run your fingernail over the scractch see how deep it is...if its real deep you may have to wetsand it, if not compund it with a cloth pad then buff with a foam pad.

If the scratches aren't deep waxing the car will cover up the blemishes and give your max a new shiny look to it.

If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail it's probably too deep to do anything about. It probably went all the way through the clearcoat. If you can't feel it with your nail, then you could remove the scratches with a heavy polish, or try to hide them with a wax. If you decide to just hide them, then they will continue to come back as the wax coat ages.

Thanks guys, I think I will be able to get away with just waxing it, so I'm gonna give that a shot.

Chef: I think you might wanna polish it out, or have it polished out. You will be more satisfied with the results in the long run
