I am curious as to how well they work by hand and by machine.

By machine, they work pretty well.....never tried them by hand though

Ive used it before, it works well. Especially if you have a porter cable and the requisite sonus pad

Meguiar's also has a whole bunch of new products coming out including brushes.

I've seen the brushes by Meguiar's and some of them strike a major similarity to OXO brushes.
