The best way to think of RainX is like it is a wax for your windows. That means you apply it similar to the way you apply a wax, and you need to buff it off in the same manner, which can be difficult. For application, I usually spray once or twice onto a square, folded terry cloth towel (clean of course) and apply to the windshield in circular motions. I allow it to haze for about 10-20 minutes and then I use a cheap TurtleWax hand random orbital with a clean terry bonnet to buff it off which I've found is the most effective method to doing so. You could really use any random orbital, but I picked this thing up for 5 bucks and it works great for this.

I just applied, let it haze and then removed it after about 5 minutes with another cloth. Ive never had any problems removing it before....just an easy on, easy off...

This is how I prevent missing spots when removing the haze (which will create glare at night):

1. Clean windows with a normal glass cleaner. Just get the windows clean.
2. Apply Rain-X with a folded up cloth over all exterior glass. Make sure you don't miss any spots. I go over them twice for this reason.
3. Wash car with car soap, including windows. Rinse well.
4. Dry car thoroughly, including windows.

There will be no excess Rain-X left on the windows, and no haze to buff off and risk missing spots. Also very easy, and the entire car gets clean! Works perfectly everytime, and doesn't seem to cut down on durability at all (mine last atleast 6 months per application before I re-apply out of habit, not necessity).

Rain-x is a very good product. Ok, it may attract a little dirt, then again when it monsoons on you and you can see out the wihdshield because of the Rain-x, you won't mind the dirt. It is kinda trippy how it gets on the windshield and just beads off. Looks like there is a force behind it that doens't let it penetrate your windows.

yeah I use it every now and then, or if there's a vicious bug splatter that won't wipe away. it's a very good glass cleaner.

I just use my regular car wax. Thats basically what it is. Wax works just as good. No need to spend anymore money for RainX.

You may not notice it, but Carnauba wax is slightly opaque even when buffed off, which makes me wonder how it provides perfect visibility when on your windshield...

forget about the rainx bottle. Get the Rainx windshield wiper fluid instead and you'll never have to apply it on by hand anymore.

I've tried that but I don't think it works anywhere near as good as the stuff straight out of a bottle.
