Looking to replace my windshield wipers...what do I get?

I supply all of my vehicles with ANCO wipers, usually can find them through a Good Year service shop. Just like DOODOOCHIP had mentioned with the Rain X wax, I like to do the same. Applying that wax really helps to drive through rain. At the right speed, you won't need your wipers at all! You'll just see the water run off the aerodynamics of the vehicle. Nice job putting a post like this up, to see what's best! You only want to spend $40+ wisely!!!

Have been using the Michelin blades for a few years (about 6+ years) now and am impressed with them for the price. Always buy them from Wal-Mart. Excellent contact even when windy and/or highway driving. Work great in winter as well.

Had the same wipers for the past 5 years (70,000 miles), and they are still streak free. Rain-X nor Bosch will not compare.

I've had both the Bosch Icons and Rainx Latitudes. The Icons were super quiet and smooth at first but they started to streak and get kinda loud after only a few months. I've had the Rainx latitudes for about a year now and they're still streak free and quiet. Rainx definitely has a better product, and is about $5 or $10 cheaper too.

how long have they lasted?, they sound pretty good.

The day i purchased my 5.5 gen i went and got a set of bosch icon's that was in August of 2007.
Just now in April 2012 i replaced them. Granted I haven't driven the car much in the last 2 years but still.
I always wiped them down when washing the car and being very careful not to tear them up.
By the 2ed year they was streaky and what not but still worked enough for me to keep them.

Living in the south, I go through wiper blades like it's nobody's business. The sun and heat here tend to dry them out pretty quickly. I'm replacing my blades every six months to a year.
So far the best blades I've had have been the factory ones that I "borrowed" from a Hyundai Sonata when I was still working for a car rental company.
Next in line were the Bosch Icons. The Rain-X, in my experience are good for cars in more moderate climates. The heat around here tends to ruin them in no time flat.
The WORST wiper blades I've used are the Trico Neoforms that they sell at Advance and Autozone. I've had one on my driver's side for three or four months, and it's already streaking and skipping at highway speds.
One thing I've also noticed, is that putting Rain X on my windshield, for whatever reason, seems to shorten the life of blades considerably. Maybe it has something to do with the alcohols they use in the product?
I just use regular paste wax on my windshield now. Works just as good as Rain X, and lasts a bit longer, without wasting the life of my wiper blades.
I might save up and try out the PIAA blades they sell on Tire Rack.

What I meant is that I think when the surface of the windshield gets wet from the rain, it causes the Rain X to sit on the surface, in the beads of water, and if/when you do use your wiper blades, they absorb the alcohol, thusly drying out the rubber.
The only other downfall I see with Rain X is that it has a rather short lifespan. I can apply a layer of Meguiar's TechWax, and it'll stay on there for four or five months. Rain X seems to only last as long as one or two good rainfalls.

Due to the heat and climate here, I usually change my wiper blades every spring before the regular rain patters start. I stick with the Bosch Icon's, and I can get 2 full years of use out of them before they start showing signs of wear, but I prefer to change them out every year.

I use bosch icon wipers. I think I saw something say those are standard on Mercedes Benz and BMW's so they must be good..haha.
If I remember correct I picked up my current pair Feb-2011 and they still do a good job but kind of steak every once in a while. I also use the RainX windshield wash, the water beading is great!

Just a stray thought - The F-150 Platinum has a rain-sensor on the windshield (around the rear-view) that triggers the wipers to come on automatically. It'd be some cool ish if that could be jerry-rigged to a Max/Infiniti ^^

It's a cool option, but I'd hate to have my wipers freaking out every time I passed through a car wash or something.

On the control, there's settings for auto, off, and I think 3 speeds you can set the wipers to
