swirls in paint!!

i had the bumper repainted on my car and told them not to wax the car. they tend to leave swirl marks in the paint with the mechanical buffers!!! sooo i pick up the car and it is waxed... and COVERED in swirl marks!! i have a dark car so they show really bad...

I re-waxed the car and it hid them for awhile... however they come back when the wax wears away. is there anyway to get rid of the swirls? instead of just covering them up all the time.

thanks!

i would... however, thay have f-ed up the paint soooo much in the past it would prob look worse if they repainted it. i have a post in the dealer complaint section about them. i am currently suing them for the rear bumper. i plan on repainting the entire car myself when i get the time...

They should have known that you should never wax freshly painted panels, whether or not the customer asks them not to. I would definitely try to get my money back and if you have the time and resources to do it yourself, go that route later on. In the meantime you can always buff the swirls out (because you can buff new paint, in the same manner you would finish a paint job) or use a filler/swirl remover such as 3M Swirl Remover.

Are you sure they waxed it? They may have just polished it with a rotary and left swirls that way. I would think that they would be intelligent enough to know not to seal/wax new paint.

I would definitely remove the swirls yourself with a PC and a good polish.

I'd wait around 60 days before polishing so that the clear can cure properly.

i thought your not suposed to wax right after paint. i thought there was a cure period before you could wax.

the body shop at nemith motors is full of idiots... i dont think that they have any idea what they are doing... they actually shut down the body shop because they had to many complaints and it was costing them more money to keep it open that what it was making. the second time they painted the bumper when i got it back there wa a huge swirl mark on the passangers side of the bumper. the service manager tried to tell me that they HAVE TO wax new paint... as i said... idiots.
