Debaging Question

Just got my max and I'm looking to clean up the rear a little by taking the emblems off (debaging). I plan on using some kind of heat to get the glue soft and then taking fishing line and "sawing" through the glue. My questions :

1) Will goo gone or tar and bug remover be all that is needed to get rid of the residual glue left?

2) How do you get the faded paint behind the emblem to mix with the color of the car (btw, the color is sagemist green)?

Thanks.

Goo Gone/tar remover should take off the ashesive residue just fine.

For any color difference, I would suggest using a clay bar first, followed by a polish and then wax. Use the polish again if there's still an outline, then wax again.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking but wasnt sure if it was better to go with a mild rubbing compound or claying/polish.

I'm betting the polish will work, but if not a gentle application of a compound would probably do it. Then polish again and wax.
