Washed The Max

Well, it was actually 59 degrees this past Saturday in New Jersey. Just a week before that we got 16 inches of snow. Anyways, I decided to wash and wax the Maxima since I never got a chance to do it before the winter. Here are the results.

I have used a bunch of different waxes and polishes which all worked very well. This time I decided to try Meguiars NXT Genteration Tech Wax and Speed Detailer. Both are Synthetic and very easy to use. No wax marks on the black plastic on the car which I really hate.

hct67, Did you intentionally use either of these products on the black plastic trim, or was it just a case that you didn't notice any accidental white residue after you were done? I use the Zaino products which are incredible (but hard work), but I haven't found anything good for around the mirrors or around the glass and doors.

Well i used it on the plastic under the mirror just to see what happed. Nothing so then I just put it on the whole car. Another nice point, I put the wax on the whole car first and then sat for a few minutes to have a cig, then I started to wipe it down. No problems at all, very easy to get off.

hct67, Thanks for the info. Don't smoke, but maybe if I had taken a few smoke breaks instead of going two days straight to put the alternating applications of Zaino on and off, I wouldn't be going to PT for my torn rotator cuff. Max looks sharp on the way to my sessions though.

I just used the Maguire's Tech Wax spray-on touch-up wax today during lunch. Looks like I just did a full wax and it came off even easier than the regular Tech Wax. Great touch up wax to use during the winter. Sorry, though, no pics until I can find my camera cable.

GBAUER & hct67 - Looks like Mequiars is keeping up their reputation for innovation. Try a little of their Plastic Cleaner or Polish on your headlight covers. Stuff is amazing - a nice touch during that mid-winter NJ or MD cleanup (yeah I was out there this weekend also). I do my lenses on my older Integra and the neighbors drag me from driveway to driveway to do all their cars. On really yellowed or fogged plastic lenses a gentle application of clear coat safe rubbing compound first and then the Mequiars will make a real (night and day) difference in appearance a vision.
