nasty residue from window marker

so you know those marker pens they sell at wally-wolrd so you can write and your window and it supposedly washes right off, well they guy that sold my car to me used that to write "for sale" and the price and his number and all that good stuff on my windows . i've had my windows tinted 5% front/ rear and now whenever i wash my car or if the windows frost i can see perfectly what he wrote on my windows. it goes away when they are dry, but it's kinda annoying. the only thing i could think to do was wax them, but this did nothing. so any advice on how to get rid of this would be appreciated. thnx

Use a glass polish. Its a mild abrasive that removes all sorts of crud on the windows. I got a bottle of "Auto Glass Stripper" at Wal-mart for $5 or so. There are other similar products out there. Essentially a very fine abrasive in a liquid suspension. Works well.

Other people have had good luck using 0000 steel wool pads. Make SURE it is 0000 (4 zeros) and not some no name brand at a buck or two store.

also try using a new flat razor or box cutter blade with some soapy water - should clean it right up, if your glass is pitted then maybe some solvent of some type but be soooooooo very careful where it might drip.

I agree.

Also, be careful with that blade! Not only could you cut yourself, but you could scratch your glass, too.
