Polishing/cleaning my headlights?

my headlights are looking a little cloudy and dirty. I have HIDs, and i think the lenses are holding them back. How would i go about cleaning the lens? I think its dirty on the inside from when i did the AE mod, but im not sure. Any help is appreciated.

Novus.

you can get them at www.tapplastics.com (also a fine source for plastic to clear out your turn signals on 5.5's).

Why didn't you clean the inside when you did the mod? If it's on the inside you'll have to take them apart.

For the outside, I agree with Maxima-Ness. Novus. Comes in 3 abrasive levels. I've gotten it at my local Harley Dealer.

I stand behind the Maguiar's Plastic X as well. But, that is only if the outside of the lens is cloudy. Not sure what you can do for the inside other than taking the housing apart, which would be a hassle.

There is absolutely NO reason that the inside should be cloudy if they have been properly sealed (left OEM). Mabye if you took them apart and scratched the hell outta them.

Take the bulbs out and hit the housing with compressed air.

NO

Clay will fog the lights up even more.

You could look on the internet for Megs #17 plastic cleaner and #10 plastic polish. It's in little white or grey bottles.

Try the Novus stuff. #2 and/or #3. Check for them at a Harley Dealer.

If any plastic cleaner doesn't work, it's time to wetsand. Go from 1500 grit-4000 grit (or the highest you can find, plastic is a PITA to wetsand).

I would take the less agressive approach first.

You could try Mother's MAG & ALUMINUM POLISH works great. I have clayed my headlights before the polish with great results. AIO and then KSG to finish them off.

Take a look at this write up
