Need Help Back Car Ugh!
Need Help Back Car Ugh!
Maybe some of the gurus here can lend some advice. With my old 99 white Maxima I could simply wash it and dry the car and it looked great it seems much harder to get my black Max to look good.
Right now I'm using Tutrle wax wash. It seems that my car spots very easily and even if I use my california car blade the car still looks streaky, etc. when it is all dry. Do I have to towel dry it everytime? Is there another brand of soap that I can use, an additive that I can put in the soap bucket, something I can spray on or is there a system that will stop spotting and leave my car looking great without breaking the bank?
I recently ordered Eagle 1 wet wash and wet wax as u dry. Are these products any good, they were suggested by a friend? Would I gain anything from claying? For a final hand wax I've been using NU Finish but I only use this every few months. There is no rubbing involved. Is this ok to use. Thanks in advance.

Don't wash your car in the sunlight, when water air dries on your car, you'll get water spots.
I have a black Max and I hate my California water blade, that thing just asks for scratches. Instead, I dry my car as quickly as possible with either microfiber towels or the absorber. Other than drying your car quickly, there's not much you can do to keep water spots from forming on your car, that's the price we get for having such badass looking cars.

I'm using turtlewax platinum (wash), and as long as I dry quickly with that supper chamois they sell in malls, or with the 20 year old sheepskin chamois, spots don't appear.
Maybe the car's still too wet after the water blade. You can try drying with a cloth (your choice, just make sure it can absorb water as you use it) after you use the blade.

The california water blade is a waste of money. Invest in a couple of terry cloth towels and Mother's/Meguiar's wash 'n wax goodies. Also take note of nosispower's recommendations. Use a clearcoat polish to keep the car looking fresh. I have a couple of apparent water spots (dried up crap from the windshield washer spray nozzle). Once again, never wash in direct sun or if the car's been in the sun (hot metal + cold water = no no).
Nismo, I actually disagree with that statement about the CWB being a waste of $$. I have one and it works well. I've used mine in conjunction with MF waffle weaves and it works very well. However, I am known to wash mine before it even touches the surface of the vehicle I am detailing to ensure that there are no specks of dust that can scratch my finish.
trader: I often refer to Black as the detailer's final exam because it's one of the toughest colors to detail properly but it can look good as hell when done. With that said, I want to know if you are washing the car in the sun.
