I like armor all extreme tire gel. It gives a great shine. You just have to lightly apply it since it can sling on paint but it gives a great shine for a great price. I am a detailing freak and really have tried it all so before you give me the "you get what you pay for" I have bought it all and Armor all is the stand out.

I use Meguiars Gold Class Endurance High Gloss. Looks great and lasts along time.

I have also used the Turtle Wax Tire Wax (wifes car). I like that stuff too, it's just not as shiny as the Meguiars.

I'm looking for one that doesn't spin-off and leave residue inside my tirewells. Any suggestions? I've tried 4-5 brands over the years and I don't like any of them, lol.

Don't glob the product on, and wipe it off after application. Then you won't get sling.

I use a "tire sponge" thingy that came with some tire dressing I bought, I think it's Eagle1. Then I go over lightly with a paper towel. Still seems to sling!

Using a paper towel would not work well for wiping off excess tire protectant IMO. A cheap cotton towel would work a lot better.

Definately will try it, along with a microfiber towel, thanks guys. Oh, in case you guys missed it, look in the "good deals" thread. Sam's has a 25 pack of MF towels for $12.

I've haven't had any success with tire shine/cleaner. Armorall & Black Magic (spray) left drip/run marks which did not easily go away. I'm hoping the Meguiars will not have similar results.

When you apply the tire gel, make a little go a long way. Then apply a small amount and work that into the sidewalls. It helps to slightly moisten the sponge applicator with water so that the gel product stays somewhat on the surface of the sponge instead of being absorbed by it.

If you apply sparingly you won't need to wipe off any excess. If there is excess gel, remember to wipe off the tread grooves at the outer edges of the tire. That's the gel that you would otherwise be slinging all over your body panels.

Armor all (which I used to use) and Meguir's (which I'm currently using) work similarly for me. I do find, however, with these products there accumulates an unusually large amount of red dust (probably from the brakes, but I'm no Einstein) on the tires between uses. Anybody else notice this?

Yeah the Armor All extreme just seems greasy to me. I have been an Eagle One guy for tire shine and Wax as U Dry after a wash but I use Meguiars for waxing and leather care. Eagle Wet stayed on pretty good and looks great, but I will give the Meguiars a try.

Great thread.

Tried quit a few different ones, including Black Magic, and I would now swear by Meguiars'! Their Endurance tire shine is simply INCREDIBLE! It smells really good, leaves a great shine, and isn't as irritating on your hands as Black Magic is. Their sprays are also equally as impressive in their abilty to shine, and all seem to last a week. Concidering I wash my car every week, I just toss it on afterwards, and it works out fantastic. Endurance actually lasts up to 2+ weeks so I am very impressed!

I have used Stoner's More Shine Less Time for years. Once around for matte. Twice around for shiney. You can mix and match it by the case direct with Stoner. Other products are Invisible Glass, Trim Shine, etc.

Ditto to smelling good...
I love the fact that you can adjust the wideness of the spray pattern which helps to eliminate that annoying overspray, even if it's windy out while you're doing it.

Anything non-silicone.

Greazy tires are too efficient in hanging onto brake dust & debris. Personally I prefer my sidewalls manufacturer black rather than sticky.

I live on a dirt road , what product do you recommend for not picking up dust.
