Bird crap!

I was too busy to wash my car and as a result I have had about 10 marks of bird s'hit on my hood. I washed my car today and noticed they left marks. I don't know if they ate through the clear coat or what. I waxed it but the marks are still there.

Is there any saving the paint other than wetsanding it and detailing the car?

the crap should come off, even if it damages the paint. I use the fingernail on soapy car technique.

You probably don't need to wetsand if you have rubbing compound or polish if you feel your car needs that extra step.

whenever i see bird crap on my car i just pop the trunk pull out some windex and water and paper towel and get that damn **** off (ye windex isn't the greatest on paint but pour some water on there to dilute and you're good)

as for the spots where the **** has chilled for a while, the only thing i saw that did wonders was my clay bar (wash car first)

- good luck

got a problem? put some windex on it!! lolz

when i see birdcrap on my car, i go to my trunk and whip out the bb gun and deal out some indiscriminate justice. It would be more satisfying if only my aim wasn't so bad.

funny / disturbing as it may sound .. i've actually been plotting sitting on my front steps with a bb-rifle and taking out those f*cking birds...

yes i may be a little mentally disturbed.. but when you wash your car in 95 degree weather with 110% humidity.. step inside to ring out your shirt and then step back out again to see a dropping the size of a baby on your hood making its way down...

that bird poo has acid in it that eats the clear coat starting a day later. no fix for that except repiant thats why I have a spray shine wax and a microfiber towel in trunk to wipe off before the poo dries

yea, you need to get that crap off the hook IMMEDIATELY afer its ... dropped? lol, but yea. they have a tendency to eat through all that good stuff. good luck, i suggest clay bar and a three step wax on that area.
