Tree Sap
Windshield: tar/sap remover, razorblade
Hood: tar/sap remover, claybar
If it's really stubborn, sap remover should help soften it up if it doesn't remove it, then you can go over with the claybar.

i used to use my heatgun and heat it up and then remove it but i think i got out of control and i feel like i burned my paint in one spot, or the sap melted into it. i dont really know but after that i never did it again.

yea it really is bad...there pine trees that cover half of my driveway and I always make sure I park on the half that isnt covered by these annoying trees...sometimes ill get a drop or two but I usually get it off within the week with bug and tar remover...
My moms Jetta is always parked under and is COVERED with sap...if you dont take it off right away and it hardens, youll never get it off
