How do you keep your steering wheel clean?

Just curious if you guys have any secret formula to keep the steering wheel clean. With your hands constantly on it, mine has gotten lots of dark gunk in the tiny creases in the "leather" wrap, and it seems leather cleaner doesn't do the best job, unless you guys are just scrubbing harder! Lemme know!

dirty hands make for a dirty wheel. don't grab it with scummy hands and it won't do that.

Everyones hands have natural oils which will get in the grain over time. I use windex and paper towel and even if the wheel looks clean, I can get a white paper towel pretty dirty using some windex to break it up.

I used to have a 2 tone blue and white leather wheelskin on my BMW. I was always using a wet cotton washcloth and dish soap. Worked great on the leather to clean all the crap off. Don't forget to use leather conditioner on it as well. Carefull with some leather cleaners and the steering wheel as it can become slippery after you are done. Not much fun when you hammer the gas......

Really, try the dish soap......works great.

Yeah I found out that the steering wheel can be a pain to clean. I use Armor All Orange cleaning wipes. Works like a charm. Make sure after you use the wipe, just wipe it off with a damp cloth, and leather conditioner afterwards or else itll turn out a little sticky.

I use simple green on mine it works good so far. Kust don't use any type of strippng chemicals. After a few years the steering wheel will like someone chewed on it. The guys telling you to use conditioner. Make sure you condition it when you finish. Don't forget the when your palms sweat you release a lot of salt. Thats on of the reasons some steering wheels look like crap. The oils also helps to eat up your wheel. What ever you use just don't use any cleaner that it harsh I can emphasive that enough.

I keep armor all wipes under my seat and wipe down everything about once a week. 30 seconds to keep your car looking brand new.
