What are some of the products you guys use on your leather, (or leather like) interior? Is the leather in the maximas real leather? Just curious.

 

I've had decent results with Lexol cleaner and conditioner. Some of the "leather" sections are really leather and some are vinyl.

 

I use meguairs gold class leather cleaner/conditioner on my seats. I have heard people saying they like leatherique or something like that. I believe if you look at the stickies you will see what some of the people like the best. My nissan dealer carries lexol and I have heard good things about there product. I have black seats so I like the low gloss look of the meg's product after you wipe them down. What color is your leather. If it is tan becareful when cleaning when cleaning them because the claeners at times seem to clean one area better than the other. It will show if you start spraying directly on to the leather.

 

I use the Meguiars and am very satisfied with the results.

 

use the 2 part lexol cleaner & conditioner myself, (work great on the leather sofa too).

as to the maxima - not sure 'bout your year - my '03 has leather seating surface ienly under the butt & at my back. the seat sides/backs & door inserts are vinyl though.

 

you know...im just using the armoral....(spelling lol :-/) and wow...im amazed if you guys are talking about that stuff being that much more amazing...ill have to try that stuff i have white leather ALL OVER everything cept dash and center console stuff and that stuff is sweet...but my dash turnes to dull really fast though...i dont think the people before me took care of this car :-/ oh well im tryiung to make it the best that it can be...and how hard of a brush should i use? i mean i dont want to tear the leather apart but i dont want the brush not to be as effective ah ok bye

 

Don't use Armoral on leather surfaces. It will dry them out and result in cracks and ultimately ruin the leather. Use it on vinyl, but not leather.

 

There is one and only one that we use and it is Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner it is number one. It has a smell of real leather not synthetic. It will also make your leather feel so plush it is unreal. and instead of sliding all over on the seats when doene they actually hold you in better.

I have to agree with him on that one. I ran out of meguiars the other day and gave the lexol a try and man it is excellent. The leather smells fresh and it is even a little softer than before. I tried it because of this thread. Grade a product and thanks for that advice. Very easy to apply and my black leather looks rich now.

 

Leatherique!! I had cardboard leather in my max and after two applications my leather is as soft as the first day. This stuff does require some time to work. You basically have to leave it on for a day (out in the sun) or so depending on the condition of your leather. Then you have to wipe off the excess with the cleaner then go over it with a dry towel. It sounds like a lot of work but I think its worth it.

I would recommend you try Lexol first. Great product to use and highly recommended by all detail shops. If your leather needs more care then go with the Leatherique product. Factory seats uses vinyl back with leather on the front. If it was aftermarket leather then it might be all leather front and back.

 

Woolite laundry detergent mixed in a spray bottle with a 4 to 1 ratio of water to Woolite. It is PH balanced it wont harm the leather. It is the only product I use to clean the leather. It is what is reccomended by Lexus & Cadillacs in there manuals as well as the leather company Coach. Then use your conditioner of choice. Mine is lexol.

 

i have tried 2 products: Lexol and Zymol.
the Lexol cleaner is basically a soap solution, so you need a supply of water to "rinse " it off. the Lexol oil is a very nice product, smells funny when you're applying it but it goes away. keeps the seats soft and smelling like leather. easy to apply, may require buffing off excess when finished. i've never had to to buff it.
the Zymol cleaner was easier to use, wipe on, wipe off. the Zymol conditioner is some amazing stuff. it goes on easy like the Lexol, but you have to buff the seats when you're finished because you can see swirls on the seats. this suff makes the seats sssssssssoooooooo soft, it is amazing. alot softer than the Lexol. the Zymol is a creme and if not buffed off properly dust wil settle in it and dirty you're seats.

NOW: i use the Zymol cleaner, and the Lexol oil.

 

where did you get the zymol conditioner? I've never seen it at autozone, checkers, or poop boys.
