Buffing 5th gen headlights

I just bought an 02 SE 6 speeed (I love it!) But my headlights are not clear like they should be I think they have a series of small scratches in them. I know that the dealers have guys come out that specialize in buffing these out but how can I do this on my own. I saw an advertisement for these online http://www.wolfgangcarcare.com/heleca.html but I don't know if there is a more worthy brand they more max owners have used and had great success with. Thanks alot guys any info is helpful

There is a thread about doing just this in, I believe, either the general Maxima forum, or 4th gen forum. just look in those. it should be near the top. you can wet sand out the scratches (will have to go up to at least 2000 grit or higher depending on prefference). and then use some kind of polish to get the glossy look back. good as new! people seem to have good results with this so far.

I should do something like that too...I have some kind of chemical splatter all over my headlights. Its on my windshield too which makes it hard to see at times.

I was told that the product called "Brasso" is effective as it mildly abrasive, but not enough to create problems. Just a thought to consider.

Brasso? I used to use that to polish my belt buckles back in my Australian Army days!

Yes - It is QUITE abrasive!

I would use the following:

Novus
Meguiar's PlastX
Sonus Plastic and Chrome Polish
Renovo
