Anyone Notice Leather discoloration?
I was driving the other day and when i got to a light i looked at my sterring wheel and noticed that areas where i place my hand, there was a light discolored spots. As if the leather was peeling away.
Has anyone else noticed this, and is there a solution or a cause?

Sweaty hands will always do that to leather as well as sun exposure. I bought a real leather steering wheel cover which looks good, feels good and still feels warm when the steering wheel heater is used. I'll get a pic up soon for a example...

Fortunately, I haven't noticed any leather discoloration yet (2005 SL purchased late Dec 2004) on the steering wheel or anywhere else. My hands don't sweat much, if at all, on the steering wheel. I put leather treatment on the interior about every 6 weeks, and I suppose that helps. On the other hand, I don't park in a garage, so the exposure to the sun would tend toward discoloration more than if the car was covered. Another consideration could be the interior color. Perhaps some colors are more prone to discoloration than others. My interior is caffe latte, and so far, so good.
Thanks for the comments, i forgot to mention i have the black interior and i can see how the black would be more partial to discoloration. I purchased my car late May 2005 only 5k on it so it still concerns me.
I think i will bring this up to the dealer but i doubt they can do anything.
I also did use the Meguires interior cleaner and protection on the steering wheel you think the chemicals might have done it?

My steering wheel is frayed on every area around. It's terrible. There is nothing I can do to fix it at this point, so I am looking into either buying a wheelskin (wheelskin.com) or buying a spare wheel and sending it to a place like APSIS or CraftCustoms.

I have no desire for wood or carbon fiber in my steering wheel, just new leather.
