Cleaning and Polishing Rims

I have an 03 SE with the titanium edition rims. I have them off for the winter and would like to use paint cleaner and car wax to really clean them up. I have heard not to do this and am wondering if this is true. If it is, what should I use?

Thanks

What paint cleaner would you use? The finish in the rims is pretty tough. That combo ought to be fine, unless the cleaner you're thinking of is really abrasive like a rubbing compound. Wax is a good thing on rims, it makes cleaning them a lot easier. Synthetic 'wax' is preferred - caranuba won't last that long.

I have the same wheels, I washed them with an Ultra Dish Detergent,
did the whole Claybar thing which got all the small little dirt spots
off them Very well and then sealed it all up with Zaino afterwards, that was
over a year ago and they are still mint, nothing sticks to them.

Treat your wheels like you treat your paint. Clay, polish, seal.
