Best over the counter wax?

I'm interested in buying the best over the counter wax...My whole life I've been using Meguiars Gold Class and it served well....although it does get dull kinda quick if you ask me....well I'm in the market now for a little bit more expensive wax that I can buy just over the counter....any ideas?

Ive never actually tried griots but we get the order catalog all the time at my house. I used to use Meguiers as well until I ordered some Klasse. Sealant Glaze, All in One, then top that off with a good carnuba wax like P21S, cant look and feel and last any better.

For the best OTC wax, try S100. Very similar if not identical to P21S. Available at Harley dealers. $15.

I have to concur with my neighbor to the north. S100 is a very good wax that you can get at any Harley store for $15. Plus it's easy to work with (read: no drying time, very easy to remove).

to the S100

Collininite 845 is good too. I'm told that many advance auto's carry it though the one near me didn't.

You might also be able to find a detail or body shop supply place near you that would have some less common stuff. I found one when I was trying to find collinite by talking to the local distributor and I'm very happy I did.

Curious to know if you have to add multiple layers of the S100 to get desirable results or can you slap on just one and be perfectly satisfied?

While 1 application will look pretty good, layering the S100 will produce a deeper and wetter shine. Wait about 24 hours between layers and make sure the surface is clean before the next application.

+1 again for s100. even with one application my car is the envy of all of my friends. its funny though because even months later long after the effects of the wax have gone my friends will still compliment me on my wax.

I love this stuff. Best wax that I have come across. Extremely easy to apply with the pc and VERY durable. Still holding up over 3 months later seeing some of the winters worst salty days. No to mention, it puts out a shine similar to S100, but it lasts 10x as long. If anyone has this stuff nearby, pick it up and try it out. You wont regret it.

hmm. Collinite 845. Definately have to give it a look see............................ just gave it a look see...............looks like they have all sorts of good waxes going on over there.

Have you guys tried the Marque D' Elegance? Oui, oui, non, non? Looks like it's the caviar of the bunch. It also looks like it might cost quite a few Franc's...........

How bout the Super Doublecoat or the Saphire ones? It looks like they are used for different purposes, but I wonder if there is a difference between their respective shines? Man, I used the word "look(s)" a lot. My bad.

anyway......curious to know about the other ones.

Thanx

I want to say I read that someone had talked to collinite and they basically told him that #476 is the same as marque at half the cost, but don't quote me on that. You could do some searching on autopia.

Some say the #476 is supposed to look slightly better than #845, but not last quite as long. I went with 845 and I like it. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of them.

You can also give Mothers Carnuba wax (in the metal can ) a try.
