Meguiar nxt vs Zainos

I did some research on what wax to buy, and came with limited results.

First of all, is Zainos even a wax?? From their website, they list the kits as a polish??

Secondly, how much better does Zainos look compared to the NXT wax??

Thanks,

Ming

I recently purchased the new NXT wax and I like it, but I'm going to try Zaino next time to see how I like it. Everyone has opinions, only way to find out for yourself is to try them both.

I may try Zainos next time, but the process seems complicated, and shipping from US to Canada is not fun neither.

I believe a poster has used both products before, and I was hoping he could do a direct comparsion.

Yeah. I have read his post. But he was comparing Zainos to another brand of wax, and he quickly mentioned the NXT.

I've read all the how-tos and Zainos seem to catch my attention. The NXT I bought yesterday at PartsSource, and Zainos I have to get it shipped from the US. Just wanted to be more certain before I order the entire Zaino's Kit (120US ish)

I have NXT now its fantastic, but from the pics I've seen of a full Zaino job are amazing. I'm going to get the full kit a little later right now I'm just trying to get my 6-speed and with that suspension mods. Search around and look for pics of zaino cars.

I've been using Zaino for over six years now and can say that it's the best "wax" I've ever used. Keep in mind that it's not a "wax" but a polymer sealant. However, it does do the same thing: protect your paint much like a wax. The advantage of a polymer sealant like Zaino, is its durability. Zaino can last as long as six months; a wax can last about 6-8 weeks. I really don't know why Zaino says "polish" on the bottle as it's NOT a polish - there are NO abrasives contained in Zaino.

When NXT first came out, I gave it a try based mostly on Meguires solid reputation. While it's a good product, producing a good shine and durability, it wasn't as good as Zaino in my opinion. Remember, NXT is also a polymer sealant and not a wax even though it says "wax" on the bottle.

If you decide to go the Zaino route, be prepared to spend a significant amount money as it's a system not just a single bottle of "wax". I would recommend buying one of the kits they sell to make sure you get all the items you need. Zaino also tends to be more expensive overall but it's worth it in my opinion.

The advantage of "waxes" you can buy over the counter like NXT is they tend to be relatively inexpensive and readily available.

If you want to do more research about different "waxes", check out www.autopia.org. It's a detailers site with tons of information. To be honest, just reading the forums might be a bit overwhelming with the sheer volume of information from the experts!

I just bought the NXT last summer and applied it as the final after wash, clay, and the meguiar's 3-step system. i was very impressed with the results on a 10 year old car. it was all done by hand, but i hope to get a random orbital this spring. i will work my skills up a bit before i invest in the Zaino just so i can make it worthwhile. i have heard it is incredible and hope to achieve the same results.
