Nissan's touch-up paint pens

I just removed my sunroof deflector and there are a few nicks and scratches on each corner. I saw that courtesy-nissan has touch-up paint pens. It has the paint on one end and clearcoat on the other. Anyone used these? How do they work? tia

yeah, the paint is a pretty good match, but i reccommend that you put some in a small container like a shot glass and mix both paint and clear coat together and apply with a tooth pick or the finest brush you can find. you can get them from an art and craft store. its just that the tip the pen comes is large and creates a blob.

if i keep tons of wax and polish over it, is there any benefit to the pen or should i just go get a little bottle (with the brush applicator thing) from the dealership and not have to pay shipping.

I also found that the pen didn't work very well. Like driver, I got blobs, too. IMO, I don't think they are worth it.

to get decent result, should i get the kind that comes with the brush tip, add some paint thinner, and fill in the nicks with a toothpick? Then smooth with a credit card edge or something of the like?

I got some scratches as well. My dealer gave me the new pen for free and I like it. It is difficult to get it not to blob.. take your time and use what was said before... a toothpick... it works very very well. A little can go a long way sometimes or multiple coats as well.

I went with the directions and I took my time. I think it's far better than the nail polish type.

i have the two pens sets. It looks like crap. wish i never tired to fix the dings. I would just cover it in clear to protect the chips from rust

Saw the touch up pen today and was a little skeptical. I prefer the traditional paint and a follow up with clearcoat.
