I probably should have posted this sooner, the haze has been on there for a couple of weeks now. Its not the whole trunk lid, its only the deck, not the vertical part, and its just in random round spots toward the edges and sides. There isnt the same thing on my hood, but i also think the VIS hood is a better quality than the ID trunk. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is my trunk shot? i will get pics if you need them to see what i am talking about. Thanks guys.

since wax wears off after a while, will this just go away on its own?

 

are you sure you buffed it off fully? try washing again and claying. or use a dish soap. some people may be against that, but it is a good way to remove wax. try the clay first, and then the dish soap as a last resort.

 

it's just going to get worse. Wax won't help trust me.. i tried.. haha.. just wait till it gets worse and then re-clear coat the trunk later on.

 

ill give the dish soap a shot. hopefully that will take care of it. i havent been able to rub it around or even seem to effect it in any way by rubbing with my finger or not, but i guess i wouldnt be able to.

WD-40. Maybe will help. It removes the wax around the window trims.

 

i tried dishsoap but it didnt seem to do anything. i applied some to a sponge and then some to the car itself, rubbed it around, let it soak in, and then washed it off. it didnt seem to do anything tho, which means its in the finish i guess.

does WD-40 really work?

 

you may want to find out if its finished in urethane or gelcoat, just a thought.

 

Luxbond has the right idea. After you determine what's what. THEN, you will need to polish the clearcoat (if there is one) with the correct polish/pad combo. If you arent comfortable, take it to someone who is, because you can REALLY F*** your paint if you do it incorrectly.

Sandpaper is a bad idea in general, unless you are a) a skilled detailler with many years experience b) see "a" c) see "b".
