PC 7424 shopping list

Working with BlackBIRDVQ's car made me realize my abilities to work with paint are limited by my method, namely, using my arms rather than a machine. Therefore, I'm considering picking up the following:

PC7424 Sonus SFX Polisher kit
Sonus SwirlBuster Polish
Sonus DAS Buffing Bonnet (to have a few extra
Sonus Complete Detailing Kit (I need MF towels)

Am I missing anything?

Applying ZPC by hand, I was unable to get all of the spider webbing out of the trunk lid...I've been told a PC/rotary would solve that problem in addition to bring out more "pop" from the color. I'm not ready to use a rotary as I have yet to use a machine to detail a car.

I primarily use Zaino products...would using a PC with Z2/Z5 improve the look?

You're gonna be very happy with the results from the PC, Ty. The Zaino products will work very well with it and the results will amaze you.

The PC kit is a good start. Down the road you'll most likely get more pads.

The Sonus Detailing Kit I'm not so sure about. The Sonus products are very good, but the price seems a bit steep. There are a number of places on the net to get quality MF's. Danase, Excel Detail, Pakshak, and YoSteve to name a few.

Make sure you post before/after pics of your first project.

I went with the Edge 2000 pads and adapter, I like that I can switch pads quickly and I can flip them over and use a different product on the same pad. ie SSR 2.5 one side and follow up with SSR 1 on the other side. Check em out http://edgepads.com/e2k6da_dbl.htm

Regardless, you're going to like no matter what you get, the PC will save you time and effort with great results.

I got the 7336 at Lowes for $89, watch for a coupon, it's regularly $109 there.

I would skip over that package because you can find the PC cheaper at Lowes. Just purchase the polishes seperately

Like bluesbrekr and mdsmithers said, unless you are really set on the Sonus products, you can find better deals for pads and mf. Excel detail has 12 MF for $25, and a pad sampler kit for $50. You are also going to want at least 2 of each pad you use. Always look around for people having sales too

I'm open to suggestions for pads. When making recommendations, please keep in mind that I'll primarily be using Zaino products with the exception of swirl removers...I may go more aggressive than ZPC.
