Rust Proofing/Underbody Coating ??
Theres a place by me that does Underbody rustproofing and coating. The place is really in order, the owner is a really nice guy.
Anyone ever get this done before ? I plan on keeping the car so this probably wont be a bad idea to get this done.
The entire underbody cleaning, rustproofing and coating is $550. They do the entire frame, underbody, everything. Pretty good job.
Anyone can chime in.

The down side is that if the undercoating gets into places that ought to be 'open'. Then water can't drain and will cause rust.
Also, the undercoating would seal any corrosion that's already started. Not sure if that's good or bad, though.

I just found about fluid film last spring. Comes in aerosol, gallons, and grease form. Used in us navy, farming, ocean ballast tanks, etc. Has great reviews and I am in process of covering my entire underbody with it. Stops rust and prevents it. Do need to apply annually, but if u get the gallon for $40-$50 it covers 2-3-4 vehicles depending on size and how you apply it. I'm pretty impressed after doing tons of reading on it. Doesn't drip, either. It won't make the rust look pretty or go away. It just prevents and stops it. Won't crack, chip, peel, etc. Never dries.
Hope this helps anyone in rust belt like I am.
Edit.. can apply by compressed air and a spray gun, too.
