How **** are you when waxing?

Just wondering, my wife says I'm a "freak" because I wax the door jams, under the hood and the trunk.....at least once or twice a year anyway. Seems to help stop the gunk build-up in those areas! I wax pretty much any area that has paint on it.

Do you wax those areas and the lip that goes into the tirewells?

Well, I last waxed about 3 weeks ago. No, I didnt wax any of those arears for the main reason being that I didnt have time to remove the existing crap. But once I give my max a deep clean, yes, I would wax pretty much every part that has paint...

I wax everything that has paint and a clear coat. I apply at least one coat of Zaino a month. When I was waxing I would do a coat every 2-3 weeks. So no you are not crazy

I used to wax my max about once every two weeks, but now that I moved to Arizona, I havent waxed it, someone told me not to wax it as much cuz the sun and heat will just kill the paint job? Does that sound foolish? Or is that true?

Foolish IMO. Waxing is the best thing you can do to protect the paint. I wax at least once a month (except in winter), except the odd areas in my OP, those I just do a couple of times a year.

I'm so **** that I haven't just waxed my car in over a year. I've been using sealant glaze and every time I add something like that to the paint I'm doing other prepwork as well.

Note...my sig pic is THE dirtiest pic I've ever used for a sig...don't judge me...

yeah, my wife says i spend more time washing and waxing my baby than i do with her!

i usually wax my car at least 4x a yr and i use Zymol Estate Vintage and i wax every piece that has paint!

if i am doing an in between wax (i have to use the do it yourself car wash, b/c i live in a condo, and they use HOT water which strips the wax off of cars) i will use Zymol Carbon b/c it is a quicker wax job.

I don't typically wax those parts you mentioned, but I might start. I think its good to keep any painted areas waxed to protect them from the elements...especially if you live somewhere with salted roads!

You can still wax that often, just use a synthetic wax. Carnauba (natural) waxes break down quickly in high heat. Fall/Winter/Spring should be okay for carnauba waxes if you wanted to use them still.

I do pretty much everything that is clearcoated a couple times a year. It seems to help these areas stay cleaner, it also looks nice when I open the door to get in .

I'm a Zaino Zombie. Stuff works great. Like others have said, any area with paint can benefit from a good polish/wax.

I did a cut an polish about a month back, and cleaned those areas you described. The whole car came up really nice, and i shouldnt have to do another cut/polish until next year.

Let's put it this way, Blues and I are similar in that we both are ****. I might be a tad worse because I am known to wax my rims, fender lips, under the bumper, door jambs, and a few other areas.

Depends, I either do a quick job which is usually sloppy or I get EVERYTHING... under the hood, in between the doors etc.
